Listen to the future of horse human relationships

I know quite a few of you here have heard of Ren Hurst, the woman who is speaking out and walking her talk to help us gain clarity and grow closer in our relationships with horses and each other. I met her some years ago and I have seen that she has what it takes to help us evolve to the next level of consciousness. If you’re ready to deepen your understanding of our human condition please take 42 minutes to watch this interview by Abby Lodmer.

Finding happiness

by Stormy May

While working on the Path of the Horse documentary I found making videos is a fun way to artistically express myself.  Now I am lucky enough to be able to help friends with their videos while at the same time helping to spread more of what feels good in the world.

I just finished working on a short video about how to have more happiness in your life.  I got to work with some great people but a surprising perk of this job is that I got to watch the video and its message over and over.  I admit that if I had seen this video once, I would think it’s a helpful message but pretty basic.  I probably wouldn’t have watched it more than once.  I figured I’m ready for more advanced stuff.  Fortunately for me, as the director and editor of the video I trapped myself into watching the video over and over as we were creating and editing it.  Even when I wasn’t working on it, the scenes were replaying in my mind as I went about the rest of my day.

The simple message of the video is to think of what you are thankful for.  Typically in the past I might think of something I’m thankful for once or twice a day, but now as the video was coming to mind in more moments, I found myself spending much more time looking for the bounty around me.  As simple as this message and technique is, IT WORKS…and the more moments you remember to use it, THE MORE IT WORKS!

Happiness is a simple, natural thing for us humans.  I’ve found that “simple” is often what I’ve skipped over in my race to understand what’s going on here.  It takes some time to make new habits but it’s totally worth it.  Don’t cheat yourself or your friends out of any more moments you could be seeing the amazing gift this moment holds.  If you are ready for a happiness overhaul try watching this video once an hour for a week.  (Actually if anyone does this let me know, I want to hear what happens!)

Here’s the video, let me know what you think of it.  Remember how easy it is to forward along, spread happiness!

Horses as dolphins

Enjoy today’s poem and video by Stormy May about living with horses in the new world. horses as dolphins

Life with liberated horses
is like swimming with dolphins.
They reflect the current
of their surroundings.

See what they see,
hear what they hear,
feel what they feel,
and we can understand one another.

Let their hoofbeats
drum your heart.

-Stormy May

This wonderful film moved me to tears. It is unfortunate that the ever present pressure to be constantly digitally and remotely connected has for many dulled the connections we all have or are capable of forming with each other and with animals and nature. This documentary should be required viewing for all who live and work with horses. On the verge of buying my own first horse, I look forward to finding that connection and to simply being with her.
