OurHorses first public project: Flat ponies
teambuilding, geography, humanities
August – November 2012
What are flat ponies?
Flat ponies are laminated paper cut-outs of ponies and other animal friends we know or ones we create with our imagination. We’re sending our flat ponies on an adventure to help us all learn about the world we’re living in today. We’re starting out by visiting all 6 of the OurHorses sanctuaries where horses and humans live together as friends and then we’re open to invitations to see what life is like with you. We’d especially like our flat ponies to visit places where people live with horses in ways that heal both horses and humans.
Want to join us?
Add your name and email as someone who would like flat pony visits. Share your life with a network of creative dreamers. If someone wants to send their flat pony to visit you, they will contact you to make arrangements. When someone receives a flat pony, he or she will take your pony to meet the horses they know and the people and places they love. They’ll take lots of pictures and tell us the stories of the flat ponies adventures. The flat pony host will also explain our message to anybody who seems curious about why people are making such a big deal about photographing cut-out horses.
We’ll collect all the stories and photos we receive between now and November 15th and edit them into a book about what kind of world we’re living in as summer changes to fall in 2012.
Create your own flat pony and send it to someone on the list. All ages welcome! Remember to share your stories with us.
