New people are finding us every day

foal black horseWhat an incredible journey to be part of a movement that is changing our collective consciousness not only about horses but more importantly about who we are as humans.  Every day we get hundreds of new people watching the Path of the Horse documentary and each day more are ready to join us in our explorations.

Overwhelmingly people are drawn to the message of peace and simply being with horses.  Not everybody is in agreement though!  Since its release, we’ve also drawn challenges from people at different points along the path.   Below is a sampling of recent comments on YouTube.

This video has really opened my eyes to alot. I see now what lies beyond just the riding and the time spent on the horses back. And I am willing to change my ways. Thank you for helping all of us open up to something much more beautiful than a blue ribbon. -15hrsebelvr

Thank you for your film lady. I am lucky enough to have trained my horse along these lines, but felt myself loosing it lately. Get caught up in the “should’nt I have x, y, z by now….?”.

Back on track. 😉 -Grevenshalvtorr

i love this movie, thank you so much for putting on youtube for the reminder that we as people can do so much if we dont try to force things to happen and just take the time to understand why we love horses in the first place and in time we can do a lot just by being there 🙂 -paula outland

Es ist eigentlich ein Lehrfilm, über Sozialkompetenzen, Zwischenmenschlichkeit, überzogenen Zielen und falschem Ehrgeiz in allen Lebenslagen. -Steffen Fandrich

Thank you. Thank you so much. I literally cannot express what this documentary means to me. I feel like it was perfectly timed and its impression on me and my life will not go away. All the things I had begun to feel with my horse but was never able to understand until now are coming together. Something will change because of this… unlike what many horse people tell me, I don’t have to force. I pray that this philosophy becomes a huge part of my life and I can help others heal with it, too. -Tangomare

As with any significant shift of awareness, there are those who are at other points along the path.  We thank these people for their bravery for speaking and posting their own truths even when they go against what other people are seeing.  Because of where we’re at, we know they aren’t wrong, they’re simply reporting from a different life perspective.  As you read the following comments feel what they spark in you.  Do you agree or disagree with what they say?  Is there a peaceful way to honor these sentiments and even see them in ourselves whether we agree or not?

one side of the coin is always different.

riders love what they do and should not have to explain themselves ever -Susie SOLOMON-MABE

I use the natural horsemanship training method. So, I use saddles, bridles w/bits and whips. I will not use a saddle that sores a horses back or a severe bit. I feel these are tools and used correctly without aggression or excessive pressure, it is acceptable. This video strikes me as 1960s get in touch with your feelings mumbo jumbo. -lonestarwalker

I completely agree with this! While I loved the message of the documentary, I found it somewhat annoying to see photos of horses “in pain” b/c of a bit; w/out knowing the context its impossible to say if it’s abuse. While bits can be painful in the wrong hands, they are not inherently bad. While riding a horse its not always possible to let them “get it out” or let them do what they feel like for the safety of horse and rider. Tools are not bad, they way they can be used in the wrong hands is. -mnl764
